Canadian Douglas Fir Offcut - 1118 x 70 x 48mm
In general the grain is straight, however when flat-sawn wavy grain patterns can be seen (sawn with the grain running parallel with the wide face of the board). Overall this timber is medium to coarse in texture with a natural moderate lustre. Canadian douglas fir is graded as being moderately resistant to decay.
This timber machines well and also responds well to stains, glues and polishes and when worked on gives off a distinctive, resinous odour. It is a good all round timber that lends itself well to both exterior and interior uses such as joinery, furniture making, flooring, cladding, plywood, and construction lumber.
