Hardwoods

Hardwoods are considered to be extremely versatile with a wide range of uses such as veneers, flooring, furniture, musical instruments and structural applications.

Their complex internal structure means that they can provide a high level of strength and durability meaning they are more resilient in testing conditions than softwoods. This strength comes from the fact that hardwood species grow at a slower rate than softwoods, resulting in longer drying times which is why they are often more expensive than softwoods.

Common hardwoods include Beech, Oak, Teak, Sapele, Maple, and Iroko.
